Annual Home Inspection

Regular maintenance is essential to protecting your home and preventing small concerns from becoming expensive repairs. Pool & Spa Inspection

Pools and spas (hot tubs) are a staple in today’s modern society. They are prevalent in the area I serve, and that’s why I made sure I’m certified to inspect these items. They are often overlooked in a real estate transaction, but can cause big issues in the future if they are not properly maintained and cared for.

Who Is Old Pueblo Home Inspection?

Old Pueblo Home Inspection is a family-owned and operated Tucson business with deep roots in Southern Arizona and decades of hands-on experience in construction, property maintenance, and building systems.

Owner and inspector Joseph Destito has called Tucson home since he was 11 years old. Although born in San Pedro and having spent part of his childhood in Northern Italy, Joseph grew up in Tucson and has built his life, career, and family here. With more than 25 years of residential and commercial construction experience, he understands how homes are built, how their systems work together, and where problems with materials, installation, and workmanship are most likely to occur.

Joseph’s path to home inspection came after years in the construction and facilities fields, including serving as Director of Facilities at the Tucson Botanical Gardens. An unexpected injury gave him the opportunity to pursue a career change he had been considering for years. He completed his professional home inspection training through the American Home Inspection Training Institute, passed his certification exam, completed an internship with an established inspection company, and soon realized he had found the work he wanted to pursue full time.

Today, Joseph is joined in the family business by his son, Joe, a Sabino High School graduate and United States Navy veteran. Joe served as a Damage Controlman aboard the USS Tripoli, where he gained hands-on experience with plumbing, mechanical systems, fire safety, emergency response, and damage control. After leaving the Navy, he returned home to Tucson and worked in the family construction business before bringing that experience to Old Pueblo Home Inspection.

For the Destito family, Tucson is more than the place they do business—it’s home. Whether they’re attending an Arizona Wildcats game, fishing together, working on trucks in the garage, or helping a local family better understand their home, family and community remain at the center of what they do.

That philosophy carries into every inspection: provide Southern Arizona homeowners and buyers with the same care, straightforward information, and attention to detail they would want for their own family.
